What to Expect

First Visit
As a new patient in our office, you will be expected to fill out patient intake forms so the Doctor can review your health information and get to know more information about you. She will ask questions about all aspects of your health to best help you. A physical exam will be performed to evaluate your posture, range of motion, reflexes, motor strength, and sensation. Orthopedic testing will give further insight to what is causing your symptoms. X-rays of your spine may be done to determine exactly what the spinal alignment looks like, determine the degree of any disc/joint degeneration, and rule out any pathology. The Doctor will palpate or feel for areas of the spine that have abnormal motion or are misaligned. These subluxated vertebrae are adjusted by hand or by a handheld instrument to not only restore normal joint function, but most importantly improve the health of the nervous system that has been directly affected by the subluxations. The Doctor will explain everything in advance before any procedure is done. If you have been to a chiropractor before and have a preference over chiropractic techniques, please feel free to disclose this with Dr. Lisa.

Follow-up Visits
Dr. Lisa will recommend a frequency of visits specific to you and your spinal health. Each visit will consist of reviewing your progress and making any changes to your care plan as the need arises. We will be working toward improving spinal health and making suggestions to improve one’s overall health. During care, exercises and stretches may be given. Certain dietary and supplement recommendations may also be given to aid in our goals to not only help you feel better, but be your healthiest self.

Wellness Visits
Once the Doctor determines that the subluxations have been improved and the vertebrae are moving and aligned better, it is important to keep that joint healthy through regular chiropractic care. This phase of care is not mandatory but recommended to not only prevent symptoms but also keep your whole body functioning at its best. The frequency of wellness visits will depend on multiple factors, such as daily physical stress and repetitive activities, mental stress, hereditary conditions such as scoliosis, degenerative conditions like degenerative disc disease and arthritis, and auto immune diseases. Although most insurances do not cover this phase of care we have made our fees affordable to make your health a priority.
